Ingredients ( serves for 2 )
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
red chili - 5 - 6
urad dal - 1 fist full
salt - as needed
tamarind - 1 inch piece
oil - 2 tsp
Method:
- heat oil in a vessel and add urad dal
- fry it for a minute and then add red chili, tamarind
- fry it for 2 more minutes until urad dal color slightly changes to golden brown
- add the coriander leaves and fry till it shrunks
- cool it down, add salt and grind it to a smooth paste
- serve as a side dish for idli / dosa, sodhi kuzhambu . You can also mix it with hot white rice and enjoy with pappad (appalam) .
