Rava kesari



Ingredients (serves for 4)

Rava / Sooji - 1/2 cup (1 cup size = 150 ml)
sugar - 3/4 cup 
water - 1 1/2 cup
food color - 1 pinch
cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
cashews - 5 -6 nos
ghee - 4 tsp 

Method:


  • Heat a heavy bottomed vessel with 3 tsp of ghee and add cashews. 
  • Saute it till the cashews become slight golden brown color
  • add rava now and saute in medium flame till nice aroma comes
     
  • when the rava color slightly starts changing to golden brown, add water and food color
     
  • when the rava gets cooked well, add sugar
  • Stir well for 4 - 5 minutes. At one point, sugar will get completely dissolved and kesari will not stick to the pan. 
  • Add cardamom powder and 1 tsp of ghee 
     
  • Stir well and Switch off the flame after 2 - 3 mins.
